ATR 72
Our newest regional airliner.

Air Chathams purchased an ATR72-500 in early 2019 to undertake scheduled tours in New Zealand for Tauck Tours. We have secured the contract for these services and are delighted to see the aircraft in our colours with the familiar Chathams Islands logo on the tail. The aircraft, ZK-MCO, will be based in Auckland with charters throughout New Zealand.
The ATR is a twin-engine turboprop with six-bladed propellers developed and produced in France and Italy. It is an ideal fit for Air Chathams as a short-haul regional airliner with seating capacity for 68 passengers.
The first flight under Air Chathams colours was on the 8th of February from Wellington to Blenheim. It will not currently be used for regular scheduled Chatham Islands or Norfolk Island flights, however it is available for any charter flights or charter enquiries.
