Pitt Island or Rangiauria is the second largest island in the Chatham Islands and is well known for its extensive Conservation programs.
In contrast to the Chatham Island, Pitt is very hilly and its highest point (Waihere Head) rises to 241 metres (791 ft) above sea level. Pitt offers a fantastic day trip with a marvellous Moriori and European history, of sealers and whalers, shipwrecks and even smugglers.
